Synopsis

Yan England's 1:54 is a dark look at teen masculinity, friendship, social media, sports, bullying — a full ecosystem of adolescent struggle.
From within its high-school setting in a Quebec suburb, we watch Tim, a smart and athletic 16-year-old, as he tries desperately to overcome his grief over the death of his mother while hiding personal truths from hostile schoolmates. Hit for a second time by an immense personal tragedy, Tim throws himself back into competitive running but, despite his skill and hard work, there is no victory to be found here either.
