An unprecedented look at the iconic shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s „Psycho“ (1960), the „Man behind the Curtain“, and the screen murder that profoundly changed the course of world cinema.
„78/52“ references the number of set-ups (78) and the number of cuts (52) in the shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s „Psycho“. One entire week out of the four weeks scheduled to shoot „Psycho“ – a full quarter of the film’s production schedule – was dedicated to the infamous shower scene.

Alexandre O. Philippe

holds a Masters in Dramatic Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and is creative director of Denver-­based Cinema Vertige. He has written, directed and produced numerous award-winning films and documentaries, among which „The People vs. George Lucas“, is widely recognised as one of the best films ever made about geek culture. His documentaries „The Life and Times of Paul the Psyhic Octypus“ and „Doc of the Dead“ were screened also at PÖFF.
